Snakes on the Loose. (38)

Helping Hand Reaching.

Fun food adventures start the show with some awkward mix-ups. Don’t try these accidental recipes at home. Terry talks about billionaires in space and Keith shares about a toddler who wants to run away. Holidays of the week are a little thin, but there are some fun food days to share with relatives. Especially for those parents, aunts, and uncles in your life. Then get busy drinking tequila with that cowboy cousin.

News stories feature a sharpshooting 8-year-old, entangled owls and turtles, mac and cheese ice cream, a bandit who cleans, lost, and found snakes in the capital, paranoid drug addicts, a devoted goose couple, and others. Jill has some weird words, submitted by a listener. Terry tells about more strange laws on the books in some of our states.

For the anchor topic, we discuss some helpful hints on asking for help. The most important thing the helper can do is ask first, then honor the answer even when it is, “no”. even if a blind person says they need help, listen to the kind of assistance they need, and not jump in with the help you want to give. Shoddy assistance can cause more frustration than helping, and both parties run the risk of coming off as rude.

To wrap up, we have a couple of emails to read. Have some fun bungee jumping in Mexico, and an elderly moviegoer has some surprises. Finally, we have our usual closing thoughts.
